U2 360

I just sat here and thought back to the times I have seen U2.
I am a fan.
Bono rocks
Not one of the kind that abandons my life to follow the band around the world on tour. But when they come my way, "I will follow" (okay sorry, I promise not to work any more lyrics or song titles into this)
Here is a list of the shows I have seen for the Boys from Dublin:

12/80 the Bijou in Philly totally floored by the energy
11/81 Ripleys in Philly- this was for "October" the crowd was in the palm of Bono's hand. hard to believe he was a few years older than me
4/83- College Park Maryland- much bigger crowd
12/84- Tower Theater- Philly Unforgettable Fire tour- they rocked it
*9/92 - Vet Stadium in Philly - Zoo TV tour-Primus and Red Hot Chili Peppers opened up  I was nearly 8 months pregnant with my daughter Sarah. I went with my buddy Ted Jones. What a great show!  special because I was expecting Sarah. I think she dug the show too.
4/2001 - Arrowhead Pond Anaheim CA, Elevation tour- .  I Loved this show, who knew the world was getting ready to change for the USA?
*11/2001 Staples Center- Los Angeles - Elevation tour again- No Doubt opened. I loved the April show so much, that when I heard they were coming back, I bought the seats for the next leg right away. They re-worked the show. It was very moving. At the end of the show, they rolled the names of every soul that was lost on September 11, 2001,  while they sang "Bullet in the blue sky" also Gwen Stephani came out and sang " Whats going on" with them.  The last song was " Walk On" and Bono took off his denim jacket and turned it inside out, it had the stars and stripes inside, he hung it on his mike stand.
Now you all know I am a big baby, that cry's over a beer commercial, but I know there was not a dry eye in that crowd at Staples Center.  Yes, he is a show man,and that gesturewas designed to generate an emotional response well, it worked and it felt sincere. So to date this is my favorite U2 show.
4/2005  Arrowhead Pond- Anaheim CA Vertigo tour- Kings of Leon opened up. Great show as always. even though I was in the nose bleed section.
11/05 Staples Center- Los Angeles- Vertigo tour again- Damian Marley opened up- this was a fun show because it was Larry's birthday, and as you may know, Larry is the one that formed the band. The guys were all wearing tee- shirts that said "Larry Mullin Band."   These photos are all from that show.

Bono is cool.

"Mr." The Edge to you

So tonight will be my 10th U2 show. It was supposed to happen last year, but Bono hurt his back and they postponed. I have watched them putting the stage together at the stadium. And even though I am trying to be nonchalant. I am totally excited. I will share my photos, and thoughts about the show. The guys set the bar pretty high. I wonder what it is that I like so much? Yes the music, but the last disc was.. not great. I think I really love the live show experince. I really enjoy watching musicans make a crowd of strangers become a group of friends. I have been to a lot of concerts. U2 is the best at making you feel like part of something. It is magic to me.
Peace, and love, and a screaming fan!
